Parkopedia appoints head of autonomous driving

Parking information provider Parkopedia has announced the appointment of Brian Holt as Head of Autonomous Driving, a newly-created position within the company.

The appointment will see Holt head a team developing parking solutions for autonomous cars, including autonomous valet parking.

Holt joins Parkopedia from Samsung, where he led Vision and AI Research, and was responsible for the team covering vision-based localisation for self-driving cars.

“We are extremely excited to have Brian on-board,” said Parkopedia’s CEO Eugene Tsyrklevich. “He is a trusted leader who consistently delivers results and is therefore uniquely qualified to drive Parkopedia's autonomous vehicle research.

“The team is really looking forward to working closely with him to further cement Parkopedia’s dominant position in the area of connected car and parking services.”

Parkopedia provides information on more than 60 million parking spaces around the world, including real-time parking space availability information in over 2,000 cities.
