Nissan’s autonomous driving technology recognised with award

The self-driving technology available in one of Nissan’s vehicles in Japan was this week recognised with an award.

The new Nissan Serena won the Grand Prize in the 2016 Nikkei Superior Products and Services Awards in Japan for its ProPILOT technology – the company’s single-lane autonomous technology for highway driving.

More than 60% of Serena customers have opted to include the self-driving technology with their purchase, according to Nissan.

The small MPV has previously won the 2016-2017 Japan Car of the Year Innovation Award, as well as being awarded both the Car of the Year and Technology of the Year awards by the Automotive Researchers’ and Journalists’ Conference of Japan.
