Avis Budget Group has announced a deal to add 10,000 Toyota vehicles to Avis Car Rental’s fleet of connected vehicles.
The company said that the services, provided through Toyota’s Mobility Services Platform (MSPF), would provide customers with an enhanced and more personalised experience, and would also provide the company with improved informatics, fleet management and operational efficiency.
“As connected car technology continues to evolve in the auto industry, we are rapidly adapting our fleet and rolling this technology out to our locations,” said Avis Budget Group executive vice president and chief innovation officer, Arthur Orduña.
The group plans to operate a fully connected global fleet by 2020, and will have 100,000 fully connected cars in the U.S. this year.
The new connected Toyota vehicles are expected to be available from September as 2019 models are incorporated into its fleet.
